Ever wondered how weather radar gets to where the weather is? Join us for a hands-on short course on mobile weather radars, from the fundamentals to a live system running right outside the venue.
We'll open with an introduction to mobile radar: what makes these systems unique, the measurement strategies behind them, and real operational experience gathered across Europe. We'll dig into the challenges that make European deployments genuinely tricky - terrain, forests and trees, wind turbines, and power lines - and show how each one shapes what the radar actually sees.
Then we head outside. The second part of the course is a live demonstration of a mobile radar system right at the conference venue, giving you a close-up look at how the radar operates and how data is acquired in real time. Weather permitting, we'll also offer an optional field excursion to a nearby site in the Belgrade area - a chance to see mobile radar deployment and measurement in genuine real-world conditions.
